We notified the FAA and have paused 787 deliveries while we complete the required analysis and documentation,” the airline said in a statement.Boeing hasn’t made any deliveries since January 26 and will not be able to resume them until they fix the issue to the Federal Aviation Administration’s satisfaction. The agency also said that it is working with Boeing to determine any actions that might be required for recently delivered airplanes.Boeing says that there is no immediate safety of flight concern for the in-service fleet. The plane maker said that near-term deliveries will be impacted by the latest issue, but it does not anticipate an impact to the production and delivery outlook for the year. The planes, which are often used for long-haul international routes, have suffered several issues for several years. Deliveries of the Boeing 787 were stopped by the FAA back in May 2021 after production flaws and concerns over Boeing’s inspection methods. The FAA said in February 2022 that it would not allow Boeing to self-certify the completion of each 787 aircraft. The plane manufacturer finally resumed delivery in August 2022.Disclosure: Miles to Memories has partnered with CardRatings for our coverage of credit card products.
