Ukrainian authorities say at least 208 children have died as a result of Russian attacks.Another 376 children have been reportedly been injured according to Ukraine’s attorney general.It has been eight weeks since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began on February 24.LoadingSomething is loading.On Thursday, the Office of the Ukrainian Attorney General reported that at least 208 children in Ukraine have died as a result of Russian attacks. An additional 376 children have been injured in the attacks, the AG’s office reported on its Telegram channel, bringing the total tally of wounded or killed children to 584 since the war began on February 24.”According to juvenile prosecutors, the most affected were children in Donetsk region — 119, Kyiv — 113, Kharkiv — 91, Chernihiv — 57, Kherson — 44, Mykolaiv — 41, Luhansk — 36, Zaporizhia — 25, the capital — 16, Sumy — 16, Zhytomyr — 15,” the statement read.The report provided detailed accounts of several gruesome attacks, including an incident where the AG’s office said two girls, aged 7 and 11, and their father were shot in a civilian car in Bucha by Russian soldiers. The authorities wrote that the younger girl died without regaining consciousness while the elder daughter was rescued.The report also detailed the death of a 15-year-old girl whose body was found with a fatal lung injury in the village of Borodyanka, Kyiv region.”The bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces damaged 1,141 educational institutions, 99 of which were completely destroyed,” the statement added.The war in Ukraine is in its eighth week, as Russian forces seek to seize total control of the Donbas area through a renewed offensive on the eastern front. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that the new push had already begun.
